We don`t want to support the government. We want to support the people of Georgia. The High Representative of the EU said this in response to a question regarding Georgia ahead of the EU Foreign Ministers` meetings in Brussels.
"The Black Sea strategy we have in place already from last year, now it`s the implementation of this. The different countries around the Black Sea are, of course, an important part of this. Now, we are also struggling with Georgia, as we don`t really have connections with the government. We don`t want to support the government. We want to support the people of Georgia. We have also held discussions on how we can best deliver this support, ensuring that the public does not lose hope in Europe", - said Kaja Kallas.
The "Georgian Dream" assesses the statement of the EU High Representative as a gross interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign country and notes that the attempt to artificially separate the government and citizens from each other is anti-democratic.
