The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia welcomes the decision made on July 21, 2026, by the Cabinet of Nauru, the executive body of the Republic of Nauru, to terminate diplomatic relations "between the Republic of Nauru and the Republic of South Ossetia, also known as the State of Alania and between the Republic of Nauru and the Republic of Abkhazia".
"This decision reaffirms once again that respect for and adherence to the norms of international law constitute the foundation of healthy international relations.
Georgia expresses its readiness to establish diplomatic relations with the Republic of Nauru and to promote the activation of bilateral cooperation based on common interests", - reads the statement of the Foreign Ministry.
