The Tbilisi Development Fund is commencing the full rehabilitation and restoration of a historic residential building dating from the late 19th century, located at No. 51 Revaz Tabukashvili Street in the Mtatsminda district, said today the Mayor of Tbilisi.
“The building is distinguished by its unique location and architecture: it stands on challenging terrain and features a distinctive facade on each side. A fire broke out in the building and caused serious damage to the heritage monument. A new timber structure will be installed and the roof will be covered with sheet metal; the wooden enclosed balconies facing the Mtkvari riverbank and Tabukashvili Street will be restored and rehabilitated, among other works. Particular attention will be paid to every detail, and the historic building will undergo complete rehabilitation.
The project also includes restoring the decorative elements of the bay windows and the historic doors and windows.
The facades will be painted, while materials will be selected on the basis of laboratory and colour studies and under the direct supervision of the relevant specialists. The rehabilitation works will be completed in March 2029”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
