By decision of the Government of Georgia, school uniforms will be provided free of charge to public elementary school students who are registered in the unified database of socially vulnerable families and whose families’ rating score is less than 65,001. Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia said at today’s briefing.

“School uniforms will also be provided free of charge to students who are under state care, including those enrolled in the state foster care program, placed in small family-type homes, engaged in services of shelters for homeless kids, or staying at the Tbilisi Children’s Home.

Students who, as a result of the hostilities that began in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, are unable to continue receiving general education in Ukrainian general educational institutions and are enrolled in Georgian public schools will also receive school uniforms… The school uniform set to be distributed free of charge consists of one jacket and two pairs of trousers for boys, and one jacket, one pair of trousers, and one skirt for girls”, - said Givi Mikanadze.

He also spoke about the issue of school uniform sales. According to the Minister, the sale of uniforms will begin on September 1, both on-site and online, and the public will be informed in detail regarding this matter within the next 2-3 weeks.
