Premiere of Georgian wine documentary “Echoes of Wine” held in Napa Valley

The premiere of the feature-length documentary about Georgian wine, “Echoes of Wine”, made by the American media platform SOMM TV, took place at the historic “Cameo Cinema” in Napa Valley, California, one of the world’s most famous and prestigious wine regions.

The premiere was organized by “Parsons Fine Imports” and SOMM TV. Interest in the event was so high that all tickets sold out in a single day.

Following the screening, a Georgian wine tasting was held. Members of the creative team shared fascinating insights and details about the filmmaking process with the attendees.

The full-length documentary “Echoes of Wine” has been available on the SOMM TV platform since July 1. The film introduces viewers to Georgia’s unique nature, vineyards, wine culture, and the work of a new generation of winemakers. Special attention is given to the ancient technology of Qvevri winemaking and the diversity of Georgian grape varieties.

Showcasing Georgia as one of the oldest winemaking nations on SOMM TV will help raise awareness and boost sales of Georgian wine in the strategic US market.

To create the film, SOMM TV’s film crew visited Georgia in May of this year, organized and financially supported by the National Wine Agency. On May 8, crew members attended celebratory events dedicated to National Wine Day. They also visited Georgian wineries in Kakheti and Kartli, where they explored centuries-old winemaking traditions alongside modern wine culture.
