Reports that 20,000 Russian citizens crossed the Georgian border via Larsi in the last 24 hours are false - MIA

Information is being circulated across various media outlets and social networks alleging that approximately 20,000 Russian citizens crossed the Georgian border via the Larsi customs checkpoint within the last 24 hours.

“For the purpose of informing the public, we wish to clarify that the aforementioned information does not correspond to reality and serves the deliberate dissemination of disinformation by certain interested parties.

We clarify that according to the data from the last 24 hours, 7,880 citizens of various countries crossed the state border of Georgia into the country via the Larsi customs checkpoint.

Furthermore, during the same period, 8,406 citizens of various countries left the country through the very same checkpoint.

We urge all interested parties to refrain from spreading unverified information, as well as from disseminating various data through incorrect interpretation and in a distorted form”, - reads the statement, issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
