Within the framework of the ongoing Georgia International Maritime Forum (GIMF 2026) in Batumi, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia met with the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia.

Mariam Kvrivishvili and Davit Khudatyan discussed the issues of deepening cooperation in trade-economic, energy, transport (civil aviation, railway), and tourism sectors between the two countries, as well as future cooperation plans.

To ensure uninterrupted cargo and passenger traffic, the close partnership and joint efforts between Georgia and Armenia in the field of transport were highlighted.

During the meeting it was noted that bilateral dynamic cooperation has a positive impact on transport indicators. Attention was also paid to the aviation sector - in January-July 2026, the number of passengers carried by direct regular flights between Georgia and Armenia increased by 36%. Currently, a total of 12 direct flights per week are operated between the two countries from two international airports of Georgia to Yerevan. The sides also discussed the issue of launching regular flights from Kutaisi Airport to Yerevan.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Genadi Arveladze, and the Director of the Maritime Transport Agency, Ivane Abashidze.
