Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Andrew Parsons, President of the International Paralympic Committee [IPC].

The meeting focused on the 2026 IBSA Judo World Championships, where Georgia will host a record-high number of participants. Georgia's successful track record in hosting international parasporting events was also highlighted.

The Head of Government of Georgia emphasized the vital role of the IPC’s ongoing support and thanked Andrew Parsons for his close cooperation with the Georgian Paralympic Committee.

Discussions covered the steps taken by the state to advance the Paralympic movement, noting that the annual budget of the Georgian Paralympic Committee has significantly increased and prize pool for para-athletes has been brought on par with that of Olympic athletes.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Sports of Georgia Shalva Gogoladze, President of the Georgian Paralympic Committee and Chairman of the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee MP Rati Ionatamishvili, Head of Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani and Vice-President of the Georgian Paralympic Committee Shalva Maisuradze.
