Parliament begins consideration of next year’s draft budget with committee hearings. The topic will be discussed today at a session of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee.
According to the draft, economic growth is planned at 5 percent for next year, and the expenditure part of the budget will exceed 37,500,000,000 GEL. Pensions, salaries of public sector workers, as well as financing of healthcare and infrastructure projects will increase.
The final version of the budget will be approved by Parliament in December.
“The main financial document - the 2027 budget - has been submitted to the Georgian Parliament. The document is presented in the amount of 37.6 billion GEL. A 5% growth is planned. Of course, this economic growth will be spent as much as possible on such key sectors as healthcare, education, social direction and infrastructure projects. The gross domestic product per capita will be 12,236 US dollars”, - said Rima Beradze, Deputy Chairwoman of the Georgian Dream parliamentary faction.
