World Bank upgrades Georgia`s GDP growth forecast to 7%, outperforming other EU candidates by 2.6 times – Prime Minister

The World Bank has published an updated forecast regarding economic growth. This forecast has increased to 7%. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

"Previously, a preliminary forecast was published in June, which stood at 5%, and this forecast has been upgraded by 2%, from 5% to 7%, reflecting the positive trends in Georgia`s economy during the current year.

This forecast is 2.6 times higher than the average figure of other candidate countries for EU membership. It should also be noted that according to the World Bank’s forecast, over the next 3 years - during 2026, 2027, and 2028 - Georgia will have the highest economic growth among all European countries. Maintaining this trend is one of our utmost priorities", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
