The Folklore Center has opened 3 more Lotbari schools in Imereti

Traditional singing and chanting schools (Lotbari schools) have opened for students, youth, and any interested individuals from six villages of the Kharagauli municipality: Khevi, Khunevi, Gedsamania, Vashlevi, Boriti, and Vertkvichala.

The Khunevi Lotbari School unites 3 villages - Khevi, Gedsamania, and Khunevi - and has been established within the Khunevi Public School. The lotbari-regent (choirmaster-conductor) of the school is Guja Arevadze, a graduate of the Giorgi Mtatsmindeli Higher Education Institution of Ecclesiastical Chanting.

The Vertkvichala Lotbari School has begun functioning in the building of the local public school. The instructor is Salome Chanishvili, who is also a graduate of the University of Chanting.

Meanwhile, the Boriti and Vashlevi Lotbari School is located within the Vashlevi Public School, and its lotbari is Nika Borchkhadze, a graduate of the University of Chanting.

In the new Lotbari schools, 60 children have already passed the auditions and registered. Under the support of the state, they will master Georgian folk songs and traditional church chanting free of charge.
