Ombudsman plans to appeal the so-called wiretapping law in the Constitutional Court . The Public Defender said that the proposed model is defective, including in terms of institutional independence. According to Nanuashvili his office will file a lawsuit to the Constitutional court in the next few days.

"There is a bad legacy in the country, the Interior Ministry and security agencies were involved in illegal surveillance. Therefore, there is still a feeling among the population that these are the bodies of state authorities, who were behind this lawlessness. Thus, the proposed model is defective. We are preparing to file a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court,which will be ready in the next few days, "- said Nanuashvili.
