The legislative package initiated on a drug policy is being discussed at the conference, attended by specialists, representatives of law enforcement agencies, politicians and foreign experts.

According to the authors of the draft law, if a person has a dose for a single day for his own consumption, he should not be sentenced to imprisonment.

The NGOs which have initiated the package explain that the novelty aims to introduce a new drug policy, according to which repressive criminal mechanisms will be replaced by treatment, rehabilitation and prevention mechanisms.

Members of the parliamentary majority who are attending the conference agree that drug policy has to be changed but this should be considered systematically.
