The influential field commander from Pankisi was killed in Syria. Giorgi Kushtanashvili known as Salazar Margoshvili and Salahudin Shishani. was killed in the fighting The 39-year-old Feizul Margoshvili from Duisi was involved in Lapota"s special operation in 2012.

According to the current information, Margoshvili led a group of 17 people. After the special operation, one of the group members left the territory of Georgia via Vale border crossing point and moved to Turkey.

According to Pankisi people, in October 2015, Feizul Margoshvili and his team members fought both against the Syrian authorities and the so-called "Islamic State".

Since then, George Kushtanashvili has become the head of the Caucasus Emarate in the Islamic State.

In recent years, it is the 25th case of death of the fighter who left Pankisi for Syria.
