Tbilisi City Court has sentenced the persons detained in Pankisi to preliminary detention as a preventive measure.

Attorneys say there are no evidence in the case which will confirm any connection with the criminal group of the accused.

"The issue of the preventive measure was under review for almost 4 hours, which is very rare. This is a very short process, as far as practice shows. Thus it is evident that itwas difficult for the judge to make this decision .There was not sufficient combination of relevant evidence that would create the grounds for stating that these people were in direct contact with the criminal group, "said Mariam Kublashvili, lthe awyer of one of the defendants Ruslan Aldamov.

As for the prosecutor, Elizbar Gozalishvili says that there is sufficient evidence in the case for the judge to take a decision on preliminary detention.
As for Temirlan Machalikashvili, he is not charged due to health condition.
