Today is the birthday of Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia, but the official reception and a solemn dinner will not be held in the Patriarchate today due to the poor health condition of Ilia II. Patriarch"s doctor Tsisana Shartava said that Ilia II is under observation.

According to another doctor of the Patriarch, Manana Sherozia, Ilia II feels normal and the cause of the event is not just his health.

"His Holiness said that now is not the time and opportunity to celebrate my birthday, it was the reason that His Holiness refused to celebrate the pompous birthday," said Manana Sherozia.

Patriarch was also visited by his ophthalmologist who confirmed that the eye condition is satisfactory, although the patriarch has caught cold and the official events are postponed due to this.

Today only one event will be held in the Patriarchate, the presentation of the new version of the Bible is planned.

The Patriarch"s office is also waiting for president, prime minister and parliament chairpersons today.
