The ruling team initiates strengthening a number of articles of the Criminal Code. In particular, any action of a high-ranking official who will hinder the execution of justice will be strictly punished.

The authors of the initiative say that pardoning the convict in exchange for concrete benefits will be considered as impeding the judiciary.

Mamuka Mdinaradze, chairperson of the Georgian Dream faction has criticized Georgian president and Mikheil Saakashvili for his statements on Girgvliani"s case.

"The acting president, who went far beyond the preservation of the predecessor, even declared that Saakashvili is a victim of selective justice and political persecution and declared Saakashvili", Mamuka Mdinaradze said.

That"s why Mamuka Mdinaradze voiced the initiative of the ruling team and noted that the articles of the Criminal Code should be tightened.

The Georgian Dream feels obliged to create political and legal barriers to rule out relapses on the Girgvliani case, so the action starts on the legislative initiative package, "Mamuka Mdinaradze said.
