Emergency Management Service returns under MIA control

The Emergency Management Service returns back under the control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The relevant legislative package of the government will be submitted to the Parliament Bureau today.

In addition, according to the amendment to the Law on Civil Security, the role of the Service remains unchanged with regard to material reserves management.

The opposition does not intend to support the initiative.

"The change of prime ministers is connected with introduction of new structures that are tailored for a separate person. All the decisions of the Prime Minister are being revised and this revision is followed by introduction of this service now, "- said Roman Gotsiridze, a member of the UNM.

Opponents of the authorities regard the initiative as a waste of time and money.

"This is another proof of the Georgian Dream"s incompetence and unprofessionalism and that they do not have vision. They do not know how to form a structure and how to manage the structure. In this permanent bureaucratic transition the people"s money will be lost and of course the time is lost, "said Zurab Chiaberashvili, a member of" European Georgia ".

Today"s bureau shall also vote for amendments to the law on the Prosecution Service.
