Telavi City Hall rejected the demand of the United Opposition. The Mayor"s Office offered an alternative territory to the opposition for holding the demonstration in parallel to the inauguration on December 16.
An official message has already been sent to the "Strength is in Unity", where the April 9 street is indicated.
According to Telavi Mayor Shota Nareklishvili, this is enough not to restrict the freedom of expression.
"We offer them an alternative place, since the place they had requested was one of the components of the event. You know that many foreign delegates take part in this event and those services that are responsible for the safety and protection of this event and the decision was taken after consultation with them, "- said the Mayor of Telavi Shota Nareklishvili.
The opposition addressed the City Hall two days ago and demanded a territory adjacent to Erekle II Palace to carry out a peaceful demonstration.
