Several-year -long trial against Bidzina Ivanishvili"s brother ended with Teona Khinchagashvili"s victory. After the first instance, the Court of Appeal also acknowledged that she really was the daughter of Bidzina Ivanishvili"s brother, Alexander Ivanishvili.
Teona Khinchagashvili requested her own surname and recognition for years.She also said that her mother tried 30 years ago to make her father recognize her.
The City Court satisfied Khinchagashvili"s appeal several months ago, but Aleksandre Ivanishvili appealed the decision in the Court of Appeal.
"I"ve been looking for the truth for 4 years and in total my mother for more than 30 years and today I have officially been granted my legal last name. I was afraid that my uncle and my father would exert pressure. Thanks to the judge that was not influenced by my father and uncle. What can I do, I am illegitimate but I exist. No one is going to change it anymore, "Teona Khinchagashvili said.
