After the hardest confrontation and clashes, in the Pankisi Gorge, the village of Birkani is calm. However, the locals claim that they will not allow the construction of the HPP. At the same time the population is ready to accept the government`s offer and sit at the negotiation table. This process, as they say, does not exclude their positions.
Civic activists impose full responsibility on the government and say that the government should have applied to negotiations with locals much earlier.
The Interior Ministry has launched an investigation into the incident of the attack on the policeman and the damage caused by the fire. Presumably, the interrogations will start from today.
