The fire extinguishing works in Borjomi Gorge have been resumed since morning. Live force is mobilized on the ground - the helicopter of the Border Police is also involved in the works.
Up to 180 firefighters and residents of the village Sakire, were trying to put out the fire on the mountain slopes until late last night. It was possible to localize the fire on both sides of the slope at night. Rescuers and firefighters stayed all night to prevent the spread of fires.
"There is a bad relief on one of sites and the water supply has been complicated and we had to involve the helicopter in the fight against the fire, " said Andrea Kujaidze, Deputy Chief of Fire Rescue Service.
