Professors suddenly became aware of the decision by the university not to extend its contract with TBC Bank. From now on salaries will be transferred to the Bank of Georgia. Some professors suspect the decision is directly linked to the launch of an investigation against Khazaradze-Japaridze.
“What grounds should there be there for a change besides a political one at such a time? In this case, the management of the university fulfills the requested assignment. Such a hasty decision rules out any other conclusion, ”said Tsira Baramidze, a professor at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
University management explains that the change in the bank is not related to the developments around TBC Bank. According to them, the Bank of Georgia was chosen only because of better conditions.
