Petre Tsaava, the Metropolitan of Chkondidi, says he has been fired from the position of Bishop by the Holy Synod, because he submitted incriminating evidence against Patriarch Ilia II. Tsaava made a statement after leaving the meeting of the Holy Synod.

“Today, the Holy Synod made an unprecedented decision. The Patriarch, the chairman of the Holy Synod, dismissed me from the position of Bishop unfairly. The reason behind this decision is my accusations regarding the sin of homosexuality in the Georgian Church”, - said the Metropolitan of Chkondidi.
