Who will be pardoned by Zourabichvili for Christmas – President’s Administration will hold a briefing

Today, on January 6, the Administration of the President will hold a briefing concerning the Christmas pardoning procedure.

After the moratorium of September 18, it is the first time that the President issues the pardoning act. It will be accomplished according to the new rule, which came into effect starting from November 27, 2019.

It is unknown if Salome Zourabichvili will grant pardon to Archbishop Giorgi Mamaladze.

The Holy Synod decided at October 31 meeting to mediate and ask President to pardon Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze.

The Archpriest was sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment on September 5, 2017.
