Seasonal and daily workers in Turkey are holding a protest rally in Sarpi, demanding the opening of the border between Georgia and Turkey.

Protesters blocked the Sarpi-Batumi central highway for several minutes. Police are mobilized on the spot. The primary road, at this time, is open.

Traffic between Georgia and Turkey got suspended on March 15, 2020, because of coronavirus.

According to the decision of the Georgian government, compensation for daily and seasonal employees abroad will be paid in the amount of GEL 300. as the protesters, this amount is not enough.
