"Rustavi 2 concerts will be held in Batumi on August 4, and in Poti on August 3," - Nika Gvaramia

According to the company"s General Director, despite the obstruction, Rustavi 2 Broadcasting Company will still hold concerts in Batumi and Poti on August 3 and 4.

Nika Gvaramia said that this the last compromise that the company goes for. According to Gvaramia, the company does not need permission to hold the concert, it is only required to notify the municipality. Against this background, he talks about the illegal decisions of local municipalities.

"Both decisions are beyond the scope the constitution from the scope and, therefore, all the rest of the Georgian legislation regulating this issues. This is, first of all, freedom of assembly and freedom of expression, as we do not need anyone"s approval, we must notify the local self-government. The only exception in the regulation is that some event had already been planned in the same location, which is not the case. But since such a decision was taken, we will obey the decision and will not enter into a confrontation.

"Despite the fact that we have the right not to obey the unlawful decision, we have decided to hold the concert on August 4 in the same location since, as the authorities say, the events are scheduled for August 1-3. The same applies to poti where the concert will be held on August 3, "- Nika Gvaramia.

Nika Gvaramia said that the TV did not pursue any political goals.

"We do not have any political goals, our interest in on one hand the marketing of Rustavi 2 , and on the other, delivering free high quality entertainment for people," - Nika Gvaramia said.
