Four citizens of Georgia were detained on charges of theft in Italy

Italian Police arrested a 40-year-old Georgian citizen in Empoli on charges of robbery.

The police officers intervened around 11.00 am near Via Toscoromagnola where a few moments earlier some employees of a large distributor of electronic equipment had chased a man with 3 cell phones stolen from their business.

The latter, after having carried out the attack, grabbed the arm of one of his pursuers during the attack to prevent him from calling the police and thus escape.

The police closed off every escape route and so, after some time, the barricaded 40-year-old had no choice but to surrender. The stolen goods were immediately recovered - one of the smartphones was found on a sink, the other two had instead been stuffed inside toilet paper rolls.
