A few minutes ago, the decision of the Holy Synod was released, in which Metropolitan Petre is criticized for his recent statements. As to the case of Deacon Giorgi Mamladze, Patriarchate`s statement says that the Holy sSynod trusts the investigative agency.

After several hours of the session of the Synod, the Patriarchate decided to dismiss Metropolitan Chkondideli from the position of the head of the Patriarchate`s television. It was a unanimous decision of all the members of the Synod, supported by the patriarch himself .

Chkondidi Metropolitan calls the Synod`s decision unfair. At the end of the day, the employees of the Patriarchate`s TV responded to the Synod`s deciskion with a statement and called on the Patriarch Ilia II to change the decision of the Synod and to leave Archbishop Petre in the position of the director of the television.

According to reports, the position of the head of the Patriarchate`s TV may be taken by Giorgi Andriadze.
