So-called Wiretapping law - Telecommunications companies talk about technical and financial problems they face

Telecommunications companies talk about those financial and technical problems they will face, in case the so-called wiretapping law will be implementated. According to them, the current providers will face most of the financial problems.

Under the new law, the so-called Internet providers are obliged to undertake expeditures necessary for creation of infrastructure and services for the new surveillance agency.

The relations betweeen the so-called wiretapping agency and the telecommunications companies will be regulated by a normative act. During the process of the document preparation, the Communications Regulatory Commission will act as an intermediary between the parties . The Tripartite Commission will determine how many and what type of equipment will the telecommunications companies will have the obligation to purchase

NGOs predict that the new regulations will create problems for the telecommunications business. After the so-called wiretapping law comes into force, It Affects You campaign intends to appeal its separate articles in the Constitutional Court. The NGOs will file an appeal in the Strasbourg-based European Human Rights Court too.
