Georgian Interior Minister Giorgi Mghebrishvili dedicated a special briefing to visa-free regime. George Mghebrishvili said that speeding up visa liberalization is a result of the work of the government. According to him, the Interior Ministry has contributed greatly to this process.
"“The EU door will be officially opened from tomorrow. This is a great trust and recognition from our European partners, and at the same time, this is a big responsibility”, said the Minister.
The officers at the borders are instructed to thoroughly interview travelling to Europe.
The visa-free travel regime with Europe will take effect tomorrow, March 28. Citizens with biometric passports will be able to travel to the Schengen countries without visas for 90 days.
