Public and media organizations` representatives address the PM and speaker of the Parliament and express protest against abolishing the status of the self-governing to seven cities.

The head of the regional development center, Liza Sopromadze one of the authors of the open letter was signed by 120 organizations spoke in the Courier live.
"No one in the government has categorically stated that the annulement od the status of these cities is not dicussed . The purpose of our statement was to remind the government that by the decentralization strategy in 2013 they took the responsibility for their self-development. In 2014 seven cities were singled out as self -governing cities. Today, we hear that the self-governing cities`status is annuled , therefore, the country`s development is impeded, "- said Lisa Sopromadze.

According to the head of the Center for Regional Development, today we should be talking about giving this status to other cities.

"The decision which was taken three years ago, based on the analysis is rejected now. When shall I trust the government?" - said Lisa Sopromadze.
