The Deputy Chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee David Matikashvili spoke in the Courier live about abolishment of self-governing status for 7 cities.
Matikashvili assessed the issue as an attempt to cause "a storm in a glass of water" and said that no decision has been taken on this issue .
"Obviously there are some initiatives, the initiatives are not prohibited to anyone, but to ensure that this initiative turns into a law, and it requires decisions be taken. We can definitely say that this sensitive issue needs a cautious approach. We have to think it over , to consider all the nuances and only then take any kind of decision, "- said Matikashvili.
He stressed that "such decision has not been taken, and such a decision will not be taken."
"If there is a discussion and consultation, it is a very normal mode. Agenda arises from initiatives, "- said David Matikashvili.
He said that Georgia is going through reforms and the country has never been so close to Europe, as it is today.
