Today, the parliamentary and non-parliamentary opposition members laid flowers at the April 9 Memorial in front of the Parliament. They paid tribute to the people that died on April 9 for independence of their country.According to them, the freedom for which those people have sacrificed their lives on April 9 needs protection.

"Today is a day of difficult, dramatic and at the same time, the heroic history. This day is belongs to the people who have sacrificed their lives for our country`s freedom on April 9, 1989, "- said the member of the Movement for Freedom - European Georgia faction, David Bakradze.

According to the UNM political council member, Nika Rurua, April 9 reminds all of us that the freedom and the independence should be struggled for and needs protection.
Free Democrats`s chairman, Shalva Shavgulidze said that every citizen is in debt to those people who died 28 years.
