Public Defender proposes a recommendation- Representatives of Law Enforcement Agencies should make a videotape of their investigation and search operations . Ucha Nanuashvili"s recommendation is linked to the growing dynamism of abuse of power by the police.
According to the Ombudsman, together with the patrol police, employees of other departments of MIA should be equipped with video cameras as well.
" We have different positions in regard to cameras. Only patrol police is equipped with them , not other departments, criminal police as well. We believe that this is an additional mechanism, in order to prevent the violation of rights and such incidents are often linked to the criminal police , "- said Nanuashvili.
The Ministry does not agree with Nanuashvili"s reccommendations.
