The opposition is convinced that the ruling party has prepared amendments to the constitution due to a personal disagreement with Giorgi Margvelashvil.
According to them, the President"s authority should be reduced and he should be elected directly.

Representatives of European Georgia demand to hold a plebiscite on this issue.

"Georgian Dream representatives can not hide their personal annoyance, Disrespect towards President Margvelashvili and it becomes clear that suspension of president"s powers and direct elections are not linked to the principle change of the state arrangement,"- said Irakli Abesadze, member of faction Movement for Freedom- European Georgia.

United National Movement believes that Bidzina Ivanishvili, the former Prime Minister wants to adjust the constitution to himself.
