The ruling team responded to the demand of parliamentary opposition of the resignation of the Minister of Interior and the head of the Security Service in connection with Azerbaijani journalist`s case. Eka Beselia, the Chairwoman of the Legal Issues Committee of the Parliament of Georgia says that the majority is waiting for the results of the investigation.

According to Beselia, the opposition`s demand is only a wish and it has no legal basis.

"We are still waiting for the firstdata of the investigation on what happened and who could be held responsible. But the very first statement of the National Movement demanding the resignation of Interior Minister or the head of the security service is their desire and it does not have a correct legal and political formulation, "- Eka Beselia said.

Vano Zardiashvili, the first deputy chairperson of the parliamentary committee for legal issues, says that the opposition`s demand for resignation of the heads of the law enforcement agencies is inadequate.

"We have very professional, high-level law enforcement agencies. Therefore, they should say the final word and then this situation may be evaluated in any form, "-said Zardiashvili.
