Leila Mustafaeva has assessed the resolution on Afgan Mukhtarli adopted yesterday in Strasbourg . According to the wife of the detained journalist, due to the statement of the Georgian authorities, European lawmakers suspect that the Georgian government participated in the kidnapping operation.

"One of the paragraphs of the resolution adopted by the European Parliament states that the Afgani Mukhtarli was kidnapped by people dressed in the uniforms of the criminal police of Georgia. One of the demands addressed to the Georgian side is to guarantee the safety of Azerbaijanis on the territory of Georgia.

"The resolution also requires Georgia to conduct a thorough investigation.According to the statements of the Georgian authorities, the EU parliamentarians have suspected that the Georgian side was involved in kidnapping.

"The investigation is in progress at this stage, but police say that there is no footage depicting the kidnapping on surveillance cameras and they should take the testimony from Afgan Makhtarli, Georgian law enforcers should go to Baku to do it , but I think they will hold negotiations with Azerbaijani colleagues. I think falsification of the investigation has been going on at this point, "- says Leila Mustafaeva.
