Partial liberalization of drug policy - first hearing of bill will be held in parliament

Legislation on partial liberalization of drug policy is to be discussed by lawmakers in the first hearing today.

According to the amendment made by the majority, deprivation of liberty for production, purchase and storage, transportation and consumption of small amount of cannabis and marijuana is abolished.

In addition, the initiative does not provide for decriminalization of marijuana and cannabis consumption.

The parliamentary opposition speaks about the need for more liberalization of the law, but plans to support the draft law at this stage.
