Opposition fights for amendments to draft Constitution - Georgia Dreams waiting for alternate plans

Almost all non-parliamentary and parliamentary opposition parties have been united in the fight for amendments to the draft constitution. Opposition members have made common demands to "Georgian Dream" today requirng to introduce proportional electoral system, change the bonuses distribution system and issues related to the creation of blocks and barriers.

Today it is reported that "Movement for Freedom - European Georgia" agreed with the ruling party on the alternate version of the constitutional amendments, although the party does not confirm it. The party denies that they have started independently
negotiations on the reduction of majoritarian mandates without the concent of other parties.

Members of the opposition parties say that unity is necessary to achieve their demands and agreeing on the majoritarian system instead of the proportional electoral system is equal to treason which will hnder Georgia`s stable development.

The "Georgian Dream" is waiting for alternative plans from the opposition.

The opposition has already introduced its own plan to the representatives of NGOs and the Public Defender.
