Foreign diplomats criticize government - they talk about violations in the judiciary system

Foreign diplomats and investors are talking about corruption in the judiciary system. Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Janos Herman, presented a report to Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and the members of the Government from the International Finance Corporation at the Investors Council meeting and discussed the violations in the judiciary system.

The content of the noisy session became known after a month fro the official stenographic report uploaded at the official web page of the Council. The EU ambassador explained that the court should be free of any political or other unwanted interference.

When asked whether the ambassador talked about this problem to the Foreign Minister and how the Georgian government reacts to such statements of the senior diplomat, Mikheil Janelidze, the head of the Foreign Ministry, says that the investment environment is attractive in the country and the investments are increasing with the independence of the judiciary.

Board meeting was boycotted by the Head of International Chamber of Commerce. Fady Asly says that people close to Bidzina Ivanishvili who are above the law are harassing foreign investors and the Prime Minister can not control it.

The report of the Investors Council says that the goverment is looking for ways to solve the problem and thinks about the creation of a commercial and tax chamber in the court that will discuss only business disputes.
