Tbilisi mayoral candidate, Zaliko Umumashvili, initiated to stop chaotic construction in the capital. The mayoral candidate speaks about the initiative, which he will turn into a rule in case of his victory in the elections. Zaliko Udumashvili thinks about setting up additional regulations for construction companies. He says that first of all the interests of the local population should be taken into consideration.

Mayoral candidate thinks that the chief architect of Tbilisi should not be selected only by the mayor of Tbilisi . If the candidate is elected as a Mayor, the Tbilisi City Council will approve the head of the Architecture Service and the candidate will be chosen with a broad political consensus.

Members of City Council speak about the problems related to construction. Part of them shares the initiative of Zaliko Udumashvili, and some say that the chief architect of the city should be appointed by the Mayor which will increase his responsibility.

The Tbilisi Mayor admits that construction is one of Tbilis`"s main problems, but he thinks that this problem will be solved by approving the new general plan of the capital.
