"This means an attempt of destabilization on Georgian-Abkhazian or Georgian-Ossetian border" - Zatulin speaks about Mike Pence"s visit

Russian President Vladimir Putin will arrive to Sokhumi on August 8. Vladimir Putin"s visit to the occupied region coincides with the 9th anniversary of the August war of 2008 , after which Moscow recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

Konstantin Zatulin, the director of the CIS Institute and Member of Russian Parliament states in an interview with Rustavi2 that the US Vice President- Mike Pence has spoken a lot about Georgia"s territorial integrity and NATO integration during his visit to Georgia and Russia can not support it.

 

"If we take into consideration MikePence"s visit to Georgia and his statements, Vladimir Putin"s visit to Abkhazia is quite logical, because during his visit to Georgia, Mike Pence has spoken about the restoration of territorial integrity, it means an attempt of destabilization on Georgian-Abkhazian or Georgian-Ossetian border. Mr. Pence has mentioned Georgia"s aspiration to become a member of the NATO, which, of course, we can not support due the interests of our security, "Zatulin says.
