Draft law signed by Trump describes all illegal actions of Russia against Georgia

The draft law on sanctions signed by US President Donald Trump lists all actions of Russia that are recognized as a violation of international law. Georgia is frequently mentioned in the text of the draft law.

"In 2014 Russia illegally carried out annexation of Crimea and since 2008 has occupied South Ossetia and Abkhazia in Georgia. It also continues destabilizing actions in the eastern part of Ukraine, "- reads the document.

One of the provisions of the law is entirely allocated to Georgia:

"The Russian Federation continues to ignore the terms of the Ceasefire Agreement signed in 2008, which provides for the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from Georgia, the unrestricted access of humanitarian groups to South Ossetia and Abkhazia and the monitoring of the situation in the conflict zones by the members of the European supervisory mission."

The law says that the United States should take steps to overcome Russia`s influence in Europe, that the president should "call on the Russian government to withdraw its troops from Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova; Return the territories to control of the governments of these countries; Stop all actions aimed at discrediting the elected governments of these countries. "

The document also states that the Russian Federation used and continues to use against the state and people of Georgia and Ukraine military force, as well as intelligence operations and propaganda campaigns.
