Part of the opposition has an initiative to unite in the struggle for Tbilisi Mayor`s position . At the initiative of Giorgi Vashadze, four non-parliamentary parties offer the full spectrum of the opposition to conduct the primaries and encourage the idea of creating a coalition,a logical result of which, in their opinion, should be nomination of a common candidate for the ost of the Mayor.

Large opposition parties and independent candidates also criticize the idea and do not agree with the primaries in the current campaign and talk about their own tactics.

If the agreement on the united Tbilisi Mayor"s Candidate can not be reached any longer according to the experts who consider this initiative to be belated because of the ongoing election campaign. The experts predict the second tour and advise the opposition to join the union in autumn and confront the ruling party`s candidate with a joint force.

Experts agree that decisive fight for self-government elections will be in Tbilisi. Almost three months have been left before the elections and five candidates are already fighting for the capital city. Their number will probably increase until the end of the month, as the parties have the right to nominate candidates two months before the elections.
