Georgian Consul General in Istanbul, Irakli Asashvili, says that the consulate has active communication with the Istanbul prison and 45 people are on hunger strike.

The family members of the prisoners contacted Courier and said that the prisoners have been on hunger for several days because of ill-treatment.

According to Irakli Asashvili, a consular employee is waiting for permission to enter the prison and meet with prisoners.
