Non-parliamentary opposition criticizes Parliamentary speaker in connection with the offer to start consultations on constitutional amendments. Representatives of the opposition say that the ruling team knows their demands and they do not intend to compromise.

Khatuna Samnidze, the chairwoman of the Republican Party of Georgia, says that the Georgian Dream plans to adopt a one-party constitution.

"Such statement by the Chairman of the Parliament are not only dishonest but incompetent. The opposition has repeatedly expressed its position that the principal issue is the transition to the proportional system, the fair distribution of mandates in these elections, which implies other components and the issue of indirect choice of the president, "- Khatuna Samnidze said.

Speaker of the Free Democrats of Georgia, Shalva Shavgulidze, talks about the conditions, in case of which the negotiations with the ruling team will be held.

"If the Georgian Dream really wants consensus to adopt these constitutional amendments, first of all, it should restore the fact that the country will be transferred to the proportional electoral system in 2020,"- Shalva Shavgulidze said.

Bachuki Kardava, Chairperson of the National Democratic Party of Georgia expresses readiness to start negotiations.

" We are open for conversation, but the most important and principled issues are to be changed the way it was promised are, " - Bachuki Kardava said.
