Nine years after the Russian intervention, the 58th Army commander makes a scandalous statement. The head of the 58th Army, who was bombing Georgian cities in August 2008 and destroying the villages to the ground, openly says that Moscow was preparing to seize Tbilisi.

According to General Khrulev, a special group was ready for a military operation and was standing 22 kilometers from Tbilisi. The head of the 58th Army says that they changed their mind about seizing Tbilisi for one reason only - Moscow was afraid of having to pay big political price.

The scandalous cofession of the Russian general may become one of the important factors for the Hague courtwhich is , studying the circumstances of the August war. Russia does not cooperate with the prosecutor Fatu Benusuda Group, so they get information from other sources. The opposition advises the Georgian government to provide this interview to investigation.

Whether the Georgian government will use the scandalous interview of the Russian General during the international negotiationsis not known as the Georgian government has not made any statement on this issue today.
