We addressed UN and from their channels different countries received requests - Zurab Alavidze on request for help to Russia

Representatives of the government have responded to the appeal of Georgia to Russia regarding the assistance with fires in Georgia. The members of the Georgian government refrain from making concrete statements and stress that the Russian side`s support is based on the UN procedures.

The statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry reads that the Russian side immediately responded to the request of the Georgian authorities, and for this purpose, the Emergency Situation Agency has also allocated the IL-76 aircraft.

The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Zurab Alavidze, said that the appeal for Russia`s assistance was sent to the Russian Federation by the United Nations.

"We addressed the UN and they requested different states from their channels, I do not exactly know how this procedure is and as far as know it was done through this channel," said Zurab Alavidze.

As for the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Giorgi Mghebrishvili did not make any comments.

"I do not consider it necessary to make comments," said Giorgi Mgebrishvili.
