Opposition demands an explanation from the government about requesting an assistance from occupant country in efforts to extinguish fire in the Borjomi Gorge.

"The government should make an explanation and clearly say that they a have appealed to the occupant country with a direct note, through the Switzerland. If this fact is confirmed, it will be a very sad fact, "Zurab Tchiaberashvili said.

United National Movement accuses the government of cooperation with the occupant country as well.

"It has become a trademark of our country that they lie to our population and as usual hide such sensitive information as cooperation with the occupant. We remember such a case in regard to Gazprom ,when the society was not informed for months. Questions were heard and there were no answers. They have been acting treacherously ,"- says Nino Kalandadze.

According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zaharova, Georgian diplomats officially requested the Russian side for assistance.
